Not sure if there's anybody who isn't aware, but Snow Koon and the to-be-reviewed Kit Fisto make up the first CW EU to be released in the basic line! (The BARC with side-car was featured in a storyline about slavery, giving its ideas to the current arc.) Is Plo worth it?
TCW53: Plo Koon
Accessories: snow boots, snow mask and lightsaber
Articulation: ball joint head, shoulders, elbows, knees; swivel wrists, hips, waist
I love me some CW EU. While I will admit that it will take quite some time to get me the figures I want from the show, we can't ignore this important section of the CW universe. Who knows? Maybe the series will adopt this storyline into the cartoon, too, and people will be sorry that they're leaving these Plos swinging.
It is not that he's a bad figure: he just shares big skirt problems with Kit, Obi-Wan and Anakin, unfortunately. But what can you say? Its almost a guarantee that the soft-goods would not be able to capture all of the details that are in these plastic skirts. (In the case of Plo, its the white outline that surrounds it.) Look at the new Jetpack Rex for an example of outlines on soft goods...eek. We would not want that! The rest of his articulation is up to par, so no complaints. He is missing ankles, but that's what we're expecting in the current line, sadly.
His accessories are...interesting. His mask fits in a creative way: there are prongs on the side that stick into his head tentacles and the mask covers his face well and stays on, too! Kudos, Hasbro. Another note are his snow boots: they plug into his foot using his peghole. The boots themselves don't have pegs, and they are balanced on cleats like a soccer player's. While that works in real life, it doesn't translate into figure form and he can't stand well.
The face, I must add, has a lot of personality compared to the past figures. Well, as much personality as you can pull from a masked face.
